TIPS FOR TESL INTERVIEW :)

Assalamualaikum.

So today I wanna share a little bit on the tips for interview. Basically I am focusing more to TESL interview which I think will be held tomorrow or maybe the next day. I'm not so sure sebab aku tak dapat frust mak oi haha.

Errr sebelum tu of course you guys akan cakap apesal aku buat post ni padahal aku same umur je pun dengan korang. Lepas SPM. Berpengalaman kah aku dalam interview-interview macamni? Haha sorry guys. I haven't attended any interviews yet (except mock interview waktu duduk MRSM dulu), but this is what I read from the seniors. I mean, I googled them kihkih. It's okay if you don't feel like reading this tapi who knows, it might help you for the interview kan kan...

So,
Untuk  speaking writing tu, dia ada 2 part which is A and B. Part A tu untuk grammar and our reading comprehension. Ada 15 soalan je tapi based on people experiences soalan dia kaw-kaw jugaklah. Ayat pun macam belit-belit ala-ala idiom sikit. Part B pulak kena buat essay. PERINGATAN! SILA BAWA PEN AND LIQUID PAPER SEBAB KORANG KENA MENULIS. Takde mase nak pinjam-pinjam orang punya ni okeh. For the speaking part, I bet the panellists must be asking you things you know about our current issues. A reminder here, kalau boleh elakkan bercakap pasal politik because you are not eligible yet to talk about it thank you! Dan of course lah korang kena bagi pendapat korang sendiri pasal isu tu. Seriously it will be benda paling penting dia nk tengok. Whether you are fluent in English accent plus confidence and personality.

Mula-mula masuk walk-in interview tu, of course you have to greet them. Assalamualaikum or Good morning or apternoon haha xD. Then yo will have to hand over your personal file to the interviewer. Of course you need to introduce yourself at the first place. Do introduce yourself in the best way. Ceghitaa apa-apa yang penting je. Nama. Asal mana. Mak ayah keje apa. Numbers of siblings. Hobi. Cita-citaa. Attention to you guys, katanya kebanyakan soalan yang dia akan tanya biasanya berkaitan dengan apa yg kita jawab sebelum tu. So, senang cakap kira macam continuous question la. korang pandai-pandai lah selitkan setiap apa yang korang cakap tu dengan kesukaan korang terhadap TESL ni. Smack them down with your wide knowledge in this TESL course! Just speak!

Biasanya jugak the panellist akan tanya why on earth do you choose to be in this TESL course. Kenapa kenapa kenapa? Ha of course lah korang tahu kan. Sapa suruh korang pi pilih TESL kat UPU ahaks. So I guess memang part ni korang kena kasi kaw-kaw punya.

And also there will one more common question. What will you contribute to Malaysia with your knowledge of English? Mestilah sebab korang nak anak-anak Malaysia ni pandai berbahasa Inggeris and survive di mata dunia. Ha tolong jangan bagi jawapan tu because it is soooooooo typical! Sila pikir jawapan lain naaa. Pikir dengan penuh khusyuk!

Okay since nanti interview confirm ada cakap pasal peluang pekerjaan kan. Sekolah rendah pulak tu. So korang yakinkan panellists tu bahawasanya pendapat korang bukan macam orang kat luar sana. Sebab TESL ni ada kos degree, English Professional Communication. So ada Literature and Creative Writing. Nampak tak makin luas bidang English ni. Haaaa so boleh jd publisher, business translator, secretary bank, ambassador, speech therapist, special educator, journalist, tourist guide pun boleeeeh...

Don't forget to give your beautiful smile because it may hide your anxiety. Hikhiks. Just be yourself and stay confident okay! Ha remember too, don't cross your legs or play with your pen or fingers! Be active, give your ideas even its wrong. They just wanna see your self-confidence and how you handle yourself with people and strangers. So cheer up baby!

Rabbi yassir wala tua'ssir = Ya Allah Ya Tuhanku permudahkanlah segala urusanku!

Thank you for reading my entry!
Assalamualaikum and salam Jumaat people!

Goodluck.

Maaf ya akak tuan tanah, saya tolong jawabkan bagi pihak akak. :)

    1. Not necessarily. As long we use proper language and moderate grammatical structures, we are eligible to go for the course despite several mandatory condition such as MUET, and the interview. Once you are in, get ready for yourself to be groomed ! :)

  6. Thank you so much for your tips, sis! When I was in high school, I never thought of taking TESL in college, actually. This is my final result after pondering right after I got my SPM result earlier this year. It has never been the course i've been looking up to, but since I love writing and speaking to a lot of friends from various country around the world, I thought it would be best to use it on TESL. Your tips have given me more confident and I'll make sure to use all your tips during the interview day. Again, thank you so much for you positive post! I can already imagine how I would face the interview this Sunday. Keep up a good work!
